Guys, he was jealous of his wife the whole time and thought that he was better than her. He whined like a bitch because they chose Helen over him. I see that he tried his best but he had a ton of toxic behaviour. Your standards for “the best husband” are fuckling low.

He wasn’t jealous and he didn’t think he was better than her, he was envious and dismayed that he couldn’t be the person who brought the supers back because its him who was at fault for getting them banned in the first place. He carried decades of guilt over that, and definitely even more so after the first movie now he knows all their old friends got murdered by Syndrome as a tangential result of the super ban. So how exactly is he supposed to be all sunshine and rainbows about that when he thinks he’s not getting the chance to fix what he fucked up, especially after Helen got so much praise for the train rescue  aka the exact same kind of rescue he did that kicked off the super ban. Thats borderline traumatic shit and he is allowed to not be ok about it. It was never about Helen, its about him feeling helpless on the sidelines while someone else is made responsible with fixing a problem he caused, there’s nothing “toxic” about that given the weight of it all. Plus he is a kickass father. I will not stand Anti Bob Parr propaganda based on character assassination.
